OCEAN CHANGE 2026 has been launched

The “Ocean Change 2026/27” expedition has got off to a successful start – the crew will set off on the next leg of their journey to Greenland and Canada from Kiel on 4 June.

Arved Fuchs and his eight-strong crew have successfully embarked on the next leg of the OCEAN CHANGE expedition series. Now the ninth adventure in eleven years of “Ocean Change”, this expedition will take Arved Fuchs, his international crew and his expedition vessel “Dagmar Aaen” via Iceland and Greenland to the remote regions of Arctic Canada. They will then sail along the impressive coasts of Labrador and Newfoundland. Arrival in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, is expected in early to mid-September, weather permitting – the ship will overwinter there before the expedition continues in 2027. Arved Fuchs, who has been travelling in Canada for over 50 years, will reflect during this leg on his experiences with Indigenous peoples in the Arctic region: On social media and here in the ‘Logbook’, he will report on what he has learnt from them over the past half-century about life in the ice and our environment. The ‘Ocean Change’ set sail in glorious weather on 4 June from the Tiessenkai in Kiel.

4 June: Departure from Kiel – then we set course for Heligoland,
Kirkwall / Orkney,
Tórshavn / Faroe Islands,
Nuuk / Greenland, Tasiilaq / Greenland,
Pangnirtung / Nunavut,
Hebron / Nunatsiavut, Okak / Nunatsiavut, Nain / Nunatsiavut.
