Platform 12 at Hamburg central station was to be the meeting-point for this years´ participnats of the 13th Ice-Climate -Education Youth-Camp.
There Elise and Ulrich were already waiting for Valentina (Ingolstadt), Henrika and Michel (Fulda). Arriving by the local S-Bahn they were joined by Leyah (Rellingen) and Finian (Biberstein) only moments later.
At 13.42 the now united team entered the regional train to Flensburg. And of course they all had hopped on the wrong section of the train and were duly forced to change to the proper section at Neumünster - not to mention the luggagge.
Sarah ( Mehldorf) and Ellis (Westerland) were already waiting at Flensburg station and all of them were then picked up by the tireless RB and his spacious van waiting for them and then to be transported to the RYVAR.
Jim ( Kaltenkirchen) and Ulfar were already on board. They all welcomed each other and there was a reunion with Annelie who would be our super-chef this year. And there were of course Saskia and Joachim the proud owners and captains of the traditional logger RYVAR.
After a delicious dinner Elise and Ulrich delivered a short introduction into the programme and the rules and particularities on board the RYVAR. There were just a few moments left for a short walk along Flensburg´s harbourline and then this exhausting travel day was over. Tomorrow we will finally set sail.
