Orkney
From Stromness, the crew cycles to the Stone Age settlement of Skara Brae.
The incredibly well preserved excavation site on the west coast of Orkney Mainland, dates back to about 3000 BC. It is considered one of the best preserved Neolithic sidelings in Europe. Impressive insights into an ancient culture. Orkney has a lot of this to offer anyway - including the "Stones of Stenness" The stones were erected around 3100 years BC. They are about 5 meters high. There is no reliable statement about the purpose of the stone circles.
